This unit has been a deep dive into the world of design, where I explored how visual elements like balance, contrast, and typography can be used to tell compelling stories. I began by reflecting on the fundamentals in What is a Good Design and We Are Artists, then applied those ideas in real-world settings through my Design Safari. From there, I created four unique design assignments, including a retro game start screen for Killer Killer Clock a fun take on a bad idea i I created , a visual poem interpretation of High Flight, a fictional film review of Austin Powers 5, and a magazine-style collage titled Magic: The Historic Gathering card called .

Throughout the unit, I tied my creative work to my research on Chile. Good photography comes in unexpected places I try to take and the find where the best shots are hiding and some times the simplest desnigns are the best designs.

What I’ve learned most is that design is a language. It’s not just about making things look good—it’s about communicating ideas, emotions, and stories visually. I’ve grown more confidently creative instincts, learned to see the world through a more observant lens, and discovered how to use design tools to bring my ideas to life. This unit has changed how I see everyday visuals, and it’s made me realize that storytelling can happen anywhere—even in a train ride through Chile.
