As I embarked on my journey to Easter Island, my senses for geography and historic preservation were tingling with anticipation. I had many assumptions about the island, but my visit revealed a rich tapestry of history and culture that I hadn’t fully appreciated before. I was suppressed to hear that all of the moai were to be removed and One of the highlights of my trip was drawing the local landforms, including the majestic Rano Kau crater and other islands. Capturing the essence of these landscapes through art allowed me to connect deeply with the natural beauty of the region. Each sketch was a reflection of the island’s unique geological features and its serene environment.

My adventure extended to Valle la Engorda in the Cajón del Maipo region. This hidden gem offered a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The journey to the valley was filled with breathtaking views and geological wonders. Crossing the Río Maipo and exploring the geosites along the route, I was fascinated by the diverse formations and the rich history of the region.
The hike to Valle la Engorda, situated at approximately 2,700 meters above sea level, was a highlight of my trip. The trail provided stunning views of Volcán San José and the surrounding mountains, creating a postcard-perfect scene. In the valley, I indulged in various outdoor activities, from trekking and rock climbing to simply soaking in the serene beauty of the landscape. The experience was both exhilarating and rejuvenating, leaving me with unforgettable memories of Chile’s natural wonders.
